Big Shine Worldwide: Being on a GSA Schedule is No Simple Accomplishment

As of June 2017, Big Shine has been on Schedule 56 of the GSA. Now you may be wondering, what does this mean for you? This is great news for our loyal clients as well as prospective customers looking to put their confidence in our company and our products.

What is the GSA?

GSA stands for General Services Administration, an independent agency of the US government. Initially established in 1949 by President Harry Truman by consolidating several government administrative agencies into one, the agency exists to manage and support the general functioning of federal agencies, as well as in developing government-wide cost minimizing policies and practices.

What does this mean for our clients?

Being on a GSA Schedule is no simple task. Big Shine is proud to be GSA Certified for several reasons:

  1. The GSA is a leader in green building design, construction, retrofit and sustainable operations and maintenance with the goal of building a 21st century government procuring and managing technology in a smart, secure, and affordable way. It offers billions of dollars worth of products, services, and facilities that federal agencies need to serve the public. Green, sustainable products and methods are some of Big Shine’s principal maxims. To collaborate with such an agency only drives our vision further in improving ourselves and our local and global community.
  2. Obtaining such a certification requires training on the company’s part, in order to be fluent in the logistics and security and quality demands of the US government. This ensures optimization of time, costs, and work on the parts of both the provider and the client.
  3. In order to be on a GSA schedule, the company must pass several meticulous requirements. One of those requirements is a past performance evaluation in which several key factors about one’s business is examined for a period of more than one year. The basic elements examined are costs, schedules, technical performance and quality control, and business relations (of which customer satisfaction is paramount).

With all this said, Big Shine is proud to continue to develop quality in our products and our services as well as ensure confidence in our clients in obtaining our GSA Schedule 56 status.
